![]() But, again, when it's on battery, it's cool and quiet as can be expected. ![]() The fan noise is an issue with the BIOS or windows power plan set by Lenovo. I think most modern, high-powered laptops will have some degree of electrical noise if you listen closely enough. The electrical noise and fan noise is 100% normal, though. I haven't had time to really mess with it because I'm waiting for a replacement for my laptop for a completely separate reason: the keyboard keys are all wonky and are not aligned correctly in the frame - they're all shifted down to the bottom right of the frame. It's possible the power plan in Windows can be modified for when it's plugged in to compensate. It really makes it screwy for people like me who want to use it docked, and it sounds like it's about to take off. Ive tried exiting the game and re-entering, but it mostly. It is loud as heck, sometimes it will be quieter for no reason but it is incredibly annoying. No buff saying what it is caused by or anything, just a noise. I have already tried to update my Teams and have disabled and re-enabled the microphone settings in Teams and Windows. So playing Extinction, for me, on singleplayer on, at times this static noise will appear. ![]() I think what happens is that Lenovo has it set in BIOS to have an aggressive fan curve when plugged in, and I think the reason is because the battery warms the chassis quite a bit on the fast charger. Affected models have static or crackling sounds that increase in loud environments such as with movement or when talking on the phone, or Active Noise Cancellation that fails to work properly. I have ran out of troubleshooting options and I heard from another associate this is also happening to them and we now have to revert to calling into meetings from our phones. Yeah, I think this is actually quite common.
